Ordellace family coat of arms.

Latham Urian Ordellace was born and raised in Janus Town. He had an older brother named Ramic that he deeply admired. Ramic was skilled with a sword, and along with his friends owned a club dedicated to fencing and other martial skills. This group was called the "Janus Civillian Guard." Latham dreamed of joining this group, yet was generally abused and excluded on the grounds that he was "too weak." Determined to prove himself, Latham looked for an opportunity to demonstrate bravery and strength.

The opportunity came when Latham found a young girl being attacked by a wolf. Latham went to her protection, and severely injured the wolf, which fled. The girl was also badly hurt and had died while Latham was fending off the beast. However, her cries had been heard and when the townfolk arrived to help her, all they saw was Latham standing over the dead girl's body with a bloody sword.

Even more unfortunate, the girl was the younger sister of one of Ramic's friends. Claiming that Latham killed her to get revenge for being rejected from the Civillian Guard, one of Ramic's friends had Latham branded as a murderer. Not even his own parents believed the story he told about the wolf. The only sympathetic ear was that of his older brother. There was nothing Ramic could do to help Latham, but he did give Latham the family heirloom for good luck, i.e. a Soulstorm Shard.

[edit] Imprisonment

Latham was sent to the Nebuchadnezzar Prison in southern Tresovia. He became very resentful and slowly began losing his mind. The negative energy in him awakened Upelo within the Shard.

[edit] Division into Anchein and Choler

As time went on, Upelo's influence caused Latham's concsience to physically leave his body and manifest itself as Choler. All that was left in Latham was darkness, and he became Anchein. Two years into Latham's stay in prison, the guards abandoned the place in order to join in the war effort against Honshuko. Latham became Anchein around the same time, and was only able to survive because of the rats and bats that lived in the prison, as well as the rainwater that leaked into his cell.

Eventually after the war ended, a Tresovian soldier named Cyrus that was stationed at a nearby camp attempted to loot the prison. He found no valuables, but did find Anchein. He released Anchein on the condition that Anchein would be his slave. Anchein rebelled and killed Cyrus and then began forming an army and hunting for the rest of the Shards at Upelo's bidding.

[edit] Soulstorm Legacy

After the beginning of Soulstorm Legacy, Latham's name is first heard from Ramic, who continues to search for his brother. There are also many hints throughout Soulstorm Legacy that Choler and Anchein are "two sides of the same coin."

[edit] Reunification

Despite this, it is not until the final battle inside the Ginunnga gap that Latham actually apears. Choler had defeated Anchein, whose soul(and thus his power) was absorbed by Upelo. Upelo then attains god-like abilities. Choler sacrifices himself to protect his friends, and his soul is absorbed by Upelo. However, inside Upelo, Choler and Anchein fuse together into Latham again and leave Upelo- and take most of his power with them.

Once Latham is reborn, Upelo is easily defeated. In those short seconds Upelo's soul has already returned to the Abyss. Latham then uses his power to recreate the world, exactly as it was before Anchein had destroyed it. He opens a Gateway to Geos and brings his allies through to the newly remade world.

Afterwards, he reluctantly explains that while Choler was a part of him, they are different people. Choler as they knew him is dead. Latham reluctantly tells Eliana that he can't be her husband, she will have to rule Beithall alone. Latham leaves.

Latham begins a journey back to the Spire of Gehenna. Upon his arrival, he releases all the souls he had absorbed as Anchein into Sheol. Thus, he loses his great power.

[edit] Soulstorm Destiny

After teleporting his friends back to Phenomena, Latham pursues Upelo into the Abyss. He then spends a significant length of time in the Abyss banishing demons and hunting for Upelo. Eventually though, he senses that something terrible is going to happen to Eliana, and leaves the Abyss.

He arrives too late to save Eliana from being assasinated and her death causes him to break down. As Latham's emotions begin to falter, so to do the laws of physics. Eventually this breakdown allows Kynar to rise from death and bring terrible destruction to the world. Latham gradually loses both him mind and powers, and eventually splits again.

The death of his/Choler's son Kolya is the final straw that causes him to get his act together. He becomes whole again and defeats Kynar. Latham then raptures away the souls of the Righteous and creates a new world that will be like an eternal heaven for them, while the old world burns. However, Latham himself doesn't stay in this paradise; he spends eternity using his power for good in infinite parallel universes.

[edit] Soulstorm Ages

Latham arrives just in time to stop one of Kynar's doppelgangers from killing Damis Courgair.
