The Soulstorm Trilogy was a series of three JRPG-style computer games being produced by Abyssal with RPG Maker. The games' setting was the precursor for the Ezrian universe as it is known today, and their themes, narratives, and characters form the foundation of those still present in the fictional universe. The Soulstorm Trilogy told the story of the apocalyptic Second Realm War. The first entry, when considered chronologically, was Soulstorm Ages. Soulstorm Ages detailed the origin of the Soulstorm Shards, for which the games were named. The second game chronologically (although intended to be the first released) was Soulstorm Legacy, the story of the use of the Soulstorm Shards to reopen the Gateways, the beginning of the Second Realm War, and the shards' subsequent destruction. The chronologically last installment was Soulstorm Destiny, which portrayed the climax and conclusion of the Second Realm War, along with the destruction of the Ezrian universe as it was known by its inhabitants. Because Soulstorm Destiny contained elements of time travel, it served as the catalyst for the events of Soulstorm Ages. Thus the trilogy formed a sort of cyclical narrative.
